Has anyone used Armstrong's vinyl line Pryzm?
Comments (109)The backing is cork so I am not surprised by a vapor barrier requirement. We are having it put down throughout our new home and will be glad to be 100% tile and grout free for the first time in our lives :) I have some old samples that I've tried to damage. It is very difficult to scratch or gouge, the only way I was able to pit it was to take a decent swing at it with a sharp tool that had some weight to it. Makes me wonder if we'll even want or need to fuss around with felt pads under everything (they seem to be magnets for dirt, hair, fur, or whatever floats around before you have a chance to sweep it up.)...See MoreLooking for Vinyl Plank Flooring reviews, specially NaturallyAgedFloor
Comments (12)No i do not work for or sell flooring. I am just a homeowner trying to make an informed decision :). Our wood floors recently sustained water damage. We need to redo all our flooring. Lux Vinyl Plank seems like a good option for ease of maintenance and durability. The only brand that I care for aesthically is from the company Naturally Aged Flooring, which actually specializes in wood floors. I’m looking for some feedback from individuals who have installed this product. I can’t find any reviews online from this particular company....See MoreAquarius vs Fusion Luxury vinyl Flooring
Comments (1)I have had my Inhaus SONO floor over 6 months. I was afraid to try another vinyl floor, as I had so much problems with another cheaper brand (it was a very well known brand too). The Inhaus beautiful and very durable! It’s resistant to scratches - We moved a large hutch across the room and knew it wouldn’t scratch , and it didn’t. My other place the i thought the vinyl would be hard enough, but just moving the dining room chair made scratches. The floor was very light grey, and the scratches were black and it looked terrible. Also, we have a new puppy, and she has been difficult to potty train. A couple of times I didn’t find her pee mess til probably a day or 2 later, and it didn’t strip the floor. My friends have our puppy’s sister, and their vinyl floor did not hold up to the pee stains. Their floor is visibly lighter where the mess was. I would definitely recommend this floor!!!...See MorePVC free SPC flooring
Comments (12)When talking about "cheap vinyl" we are talking about anything LESS than $3/sf. When we talk about THIN vinyl planks we discuss anything that is LESS than 7mm thick. Virgin vinyl is the most stable product we have. It is to be used for flooring. As much as 'recycled content' sounds nice, it is notorious for delamination, shrinkage, warping, etc. And most vinyl comes out of China. It is almost impossible to avoid. So long as it has the CARB II requirements you are fine. And yes, "usually" means during daily use. In a fire, most of us do not stand around inhaling the chemicals in our flooring. We run like the dickens to get out of the house. And in a house fire, the vinyl is one of THOUSANDS of products that give off chemicals. If you are concerned about chemicals, off-gassing and release of chemicals during I fire, I highly recommend a site finished waxed hardwood or porcelain tile. Man-made products may not be for you. And please be aware of vinyl's LONG history of instability in direct sunlight/heat. Please assess your windows for UV blockage. A low-priced vinyl (anything less than $3/sf) is going to have issues with discolouration, warpage and shrinkage when exposed to pools of sunlight. So long as your windows have 70% (or more) of UV blockage, you should be fine. Anything less and you risk a problematic floor....See MoreDanny Kerner
