how to clean new lvp flooring
Comments (4)As above. Damp mopping and sweeping are the norm. Then a few times per month you can use a pH neutral floor cleaner specifically stated "For use with LVT/LVP". Never use steam! Never use "polish" or a thing that says "rejuvenates the look of your flooring" or "brings back the shine". These are polishes in disguise and will give you problems very, very quickly....See MoreWhat kind of chair mat for new LVP? Or do I really need one?
Comments (9)The difference between the old vinyl you had and the new LVT is the LVT is thicker with a core. So, the wheels can make impressions or indentations. You may use a hard surface mat. Here are a couple of examples. You may not have any issues if you don't use a mat, but why take the chance? Protect that flooring investment! (note: the flooring in the photos is not LVT) LVT...See MoreI Hate My New Floor!
Comments (48)NEG this looks just like a super stubborn mark I had on my lvp in our basement last week. My husband had moved a small gaming console that had rubber feet. No household cleaners would touch it. I had to get a toothbrush, dawn dish soap and some warm water. Plus a toothpick. Our lvp is grooved like yours. I just can’t get on board with the “mold” theory. That seems like crazy talk. If I spilled water anywhere in my house, inside outside, threw it on the wall, it wouldn’t just mold on contact. Now if taped it over with Saran Wrap, sure. But in the middle of the kitchen in winter with a nicely moisture-controlled house? Nope. I really think it some sort of residue from contact from something: rubber boot, dragging something, etc...See MoreWhich LVP design compliments my living room laminate flooring?
Comments (8)I understand why it must seem confusing. Ideally I would use the same flooring however my stairs have bullnosing which I want to maintain. Mohawk don't have available stairnosing that will allow for the bullnose to show and from pictures/videos I've seen it doesn't look great: With LVP there is stairnosing which can just slot into the existing bullnose:...See MoreMarilyn
