I need help with paint colors. I want a neutral theme with no grays or white. I'm painting living room with large window with north light. My sofa & chair is a coppery brown. I love assessories in earthy tones.....rust, sage or olive greens, creams, tans. LR is open to dining room and kitchen.. if I use greens on walls, then I am doing creamy color for cabinets. If I do all the walls cream, off whites or tans, I am doing cabinets in a sage or olive cabinets. I have color strips from Behr, and Sherwin Williams and the more I look the more confused I become. Any suggestions on tried and true colors or ideas. I have 2 4' or 5' long walls on both sides of red brick fireplace. I was thinking of painting those two walls Iron Ore and doing 4 shelves each side. Thanks everyone!

Just use flat or matte paint on walls with North light.

I won't have access to the house until May 23rd. Wanted to buy the paint this next week. The rooms have golden brown hardwood floors. It's a two bedroom brick ranch with 15 x 20' living room. Dining room is 12 x 14' with 8' doorway off living room. Kitchen is small U shape open to dining room. LR has an 8' window. Very large facing north.

For a relatively small windowless room, white/almond/beige countertop (habitat ReStore?) and walls painted light greenish-blue for airy feeling would look great. Maybe paint backslash area only with accent color. I think fluorescent lighting makes everybody look weird so I'd have daylight 3500K+ bulbs in floor lamp and hanging fixtures if possible. (consignment/Goodwill?) and paint bulletin board frames the accent color. Have fun!

Thank you - I appreciate the suggestion. None of the greys I sampled worked so far but it’s possible I had the wrong shade- I will pick up a color chip of the grey you suggested. I realize my counters and tile clash - unfortunately I didn’t notice that when I had a small sample. I knew it wasn’t perfect but I was wanting to stay away from the pinkish beige and the taupe seemed to coordinate better than the grey. I should have gone simpler, with a shade of white instead of the taupe but hindsight is 20/20. Now I am trying to tie it all together somehow. Thanks again. Do you have any suggestions for towel/accessory colors??

Cool. The second pic is Dulux Herbalist. LRV 37, pretty dark. Looks good in the photo tho. Ceiling is Dulux Natural White.

I'm still seaching for info the first image, it's not the same paint, but Pinterest is not too helpful sometimes.

Are any of your paint chips close? If so what are the colors and I'll look them up.

I just re.read your post. Not sure about the accent wall...essentially black and red together...a little stark sounding.

I love this color palette. The wall color looks similar to Benjamin Moore Rockport Gray.
