Window units are much improved over the one you are removing. Get one that can run the blower with compressor operation instead of constantly. That can reduce humidity. Keep in mind that modern units sling water on the outdoor coil rather than draining it directly. Mini splits are quieter and more efficient. I understand your concern with RFI. Could you check out the extent of any problems by taking some equipment to an installed system? Local companies may have them on their premises or have a customer that would agree to let you make observations. How will the RFI reach your equipment, via electrical connections or directly transmitted? There must be ways to filter the former and could the latter be contained with rather simple Faraday cages? I'd never go back to single-speed systems in my home having experienced the humidity control possible with variable speed blowers and compressors. I know that it probably going to be too difficult since it would require more reworking of the building, but I'd suggest installing two window units each with part of the capacity if that is possible. That way you have the benefits of a variable output system. If they are a dissimilar capacity, you could run a smaller unit in mild times, switch to the larger one on more torrid periods and you could run both when it is really hot and humid. Sadly, I think that your perceived need for replacement parts is probably not valid. I don't think that anyone fixes window units.

He is down to one PT session per week now and is doing great. Almost there. He had no issues with rotator cuff or anything else, just arthritis causing lots of pain, but it is like having rotator cuff surgery because of how the surgeon has to cut to replace the joint.
