Milgard Ultra or Marvin Infinity
Comments (0)I have pretty much narrowed my pick of window down to these two but wanted to get some opinions/information on them from you. Any information on these two or any other fiberglass windows besides Pella is greatly appreciated. Thank you...See MoreMarvin Infinity or Gorrell?
Comments (5)I've looked at fiberglass replacements from Marvin, Milgard and Pella. I'm going with Milgard mostly because they have the best warranty - lifetime. The other 2 were 10-20 years. The price for Milgard was better than Marvin. Milgard does come with triple pane which I'm mostly getting to better reduce noise from a nearby highway, and it's only about $70 more per window. And Marvin's doing something sneaky here, in my opinion. I live at 7000 ft and want windows that qualify for the tax credit. To qualify they have to put argon gas in. I noticed in their warranty that it voids the warranty if windows are installed at >5000 ft without breather tubes. Well, you can't have breather tubes with argon gas! It bleeds out immediately! I pointed this out and the rep told me they'd make an exception for my warranty so I could still get the tax credit. There must be a good reason to have breather tubes at >5000 ft if it voids the warranty without them, and yet he's pushing the argon and no tubes!...See MoreMarvin Integrity vs. Milgard Ultra - HELP!
Comments (3)I just purchased Intergrity WOod/Ultrex. Make sure and look at these windows vs the all Ultrex (they look much better, inside and out). I have a cashmere finish (kind of tan) and have not noticed the color difference, I think the Ultrex is kind of off green, not white. Video of construction below. These windows really look good. Comments (27)Awesome. We're planning black/black too. Thought the Ultra black looked very nice. Have heard some issues from other sites about scratching with white then showing through, but I don't think was just a milgard thing, I think it was a fiberglass thing in general. Nothing's without a couple downsides I suppose! From your understanding, were the Milgarc windows through Home Depot same as you'd get thru local window company? I know things like faucets, for example, often have a "special" home Depot brand, often not a good thing, but reason for the much cheaper cost. When looking at model numbers though they're often slightly different, like D145 for direct model vs D145-HD for home Depot model, for example. But when researching Migatc windows, model number looks the same. So thinking it's same product? Was it a lot less thru them vs local company? My husband gets military discount at home Depot too, which would be awesome if it could be applied! Maybe exempt on ordered things like that....See Moremonke
